Nearly, just 29kms to go, but I'm spreading it out over 3 and a bit days. I left Arzua at 7.30am in the dark. Fortunately, I remembered to take my headlamp out from the bottom of my pack before leaving. It was very very dark through the forests, but I always felt safe. After about an hour there was the welcome sign of a glittering oasis ahead- time for breakfast. Many of the cafe owners are obviously fed up with people coming in to use the bathrooms but not spending anything in the cafe. Some have signs which always amuse me. It's usually that toilets are for paying customers, but I love the wording, "unconsumed bathrooms will be charged E8." The toilet facilities are always spotless, but the one early this morning was extra special. Over the last couple of days I have sometimes been accompanied by red breasted robins, a little like the piwakawaka do in the NZ bush. Each time I've tried to get a photo. I nearly did early this morning, but just as I took the photo wee robin was scared away by other pilgrims- that's the blurry photo. However, later on I succeeded. The forest was quiet and the track clear of chattering pilgrims, so I had just enough time to have a wee korero and photo. One of the problems with so nany people on this section of the camino is all the chattering blocks out the sounds of the birds. It's why I love walking in the early morning. Today's walk to Selcada was just as the guidebook described, long downhill sections followed by longer uphill slogs. Walking through fragant eucalyptic forests, small villages and farmyards. Yesterday and today I collected two different credential seals, a pink heart for Georgia, and a blue angel, for all the camino angels back home encouraging and supporting this camino. Remember, please keeping sharing those links so we can get to $5000 by the time I get to Santiago de Compostela on th 29th. #georgiascamino. #iamhope #holyblisters
