We left Calzadilla de la Crueza in the dark just after 7am. A chilly but calm morning. We had to walk along a highway for a but as we had missed the entrance to the track at the start. Our early morning was certainly rewarded by a glorious sunrise at 8.10am. We are still on the Mesata so the landscape is much the same except there are a few more trees. I am amazed at the disgusting habits if some pilgrims who when "caught short" seem to think nature is
the place to leave their toilet paper etc. No wonder some in Spain are unimpressed with tourists. As we approached Terradillos we noticed what seemed to be entries into underground houses or caves. There were even chimneys . I wonder if they are storage caves or even a place for stock. We walked past a very large and stinky feed lot. We are now in Sans Nicholas.
