A1nother day of squally rain and colder temperatures. But to backtrack a little. Last night we went to the only cafe open and Sara, the very kind host made us the most delicious egg, cheese and ham sandwich. She runs the cafe on her own and was meant to close at 6pm, but stayed open just for us. This morning she was on duty again and flat out when we arrived for breakfast. Today we again had a choice of routes, the road or through the bush, we chose the latter. The track was quite steep and rough in some places. At the top of one particularly steep iiincline there was a house offering drinks and food for a donation, very generous, and very gratefully partaken off. As with yesterday, we passed through small hamlets, some with one house and a church. There was nowhere to stop for food along the way after the donativo so I was very pleased I'd saved half of my breakfast croissant. Our plan for the day was to stop at Aguiada and take a taxi to our accommodation in Barbadelo, an extra 8 kms away. However, we decided to walk into Sarria and have lunch, then we came on to Bardadelo. Sarria is just over 100kms away from Santiago and is the place most people start from. The town is. like one giant albergue, hostal.
