Time to Reflect

Another long hot day on the Meseta. 15kms from Poblacion to Carrion de los Candos. The day started lovely and cool but by 10am it got very hot. Fortunately, on this route there were a couple of small villages where we could take a break after 6 days on the Camino I am definitely feeling my age, little niggles pop up, then just a quickly disappear. The Meseta gives you time to reflect and today I thought a lot about how life has changed for Georgia's family. I have experienced intense grief, but I know the grief they are going through is very different . Nothing I have experienced either 37 years ago , or the physical pain of a Camino could in anyway compare to the loss of a child through suicide. When my brother-in-law died over 40 years ago there was little or no understanding of the effects of suicide, neither was there support for grieving families. This why organisations such as I Am Hope are so important, please continue to support them by going to https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/georgia-walking-with-love-in-memory-of-an-amazing/#donations
